Not everyone respects the environment, property or our beautiful lake. Many of the public access points around the lake, such as White's Falls, Six Mile Dam. McDonald Dam or the camping spots in Lost Channel are frequently littered with people's thoughtless actions.
Thankfully, our Peter Dionisio has spearheaded a summer campaign to cleanup the lake. If you are a High School student in need of community service hours, come help us cleanup these public access areas. Come help out even if you don't need to log community service hours.
For dates, times and locations please contact Peter.Dionisio@SixMileLake.net
Help make a difference.
This summer, our fire pump training session will be held on Saturday, July 26th at 10:00am.
Training to be held at the Regatta site, just north of the entrance to Lost Channel.
The training will be hands-on. You will assemble, start and use a fire pump. You will also disassemble a fire pump. You should expect to get wet and possibly dirty!
To reserve a spot for the training please contact Chris.Huddart@SixMileLake.net
In December, following a long trail of paperwork, we received our permit from the MNR to allow removal of Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM). There are several conditions to the permit, the most important being that removal is not allowed before July 16th. This is to protect fish spawning as well as native plant growth.
Now that we have the permit we are going to need help from the lake community. The lake association is not going to come to your dock and remove the weeds for you. However, we will train you on how to identify EWM and how to properly remove it and dispose of it.
Currently we have planned for two training sessions on July 19th and 26th. You can sign up for the training by sending your name, location and preferred date to EWM@SixMileLake.net
If you don’t go through the training then you are not covered by our work permit. Please don’t go out on your own. Indiscriminately raking or pulling all weeds from the water is bad for the lake and will jeopardize our permit. Sign up for the training and learn how!

Found this great little link to a Parks Canada site that shows you real-time information on water levels at Six Mile Lake.
You need to click through a "I Accept" waiver but then you can navigate right to our lake or any waterway in the are to find out how high or low the levels are.
Get some value for your tax dollar and check it out at...6 Mile Lake Water Level
